Family Reunion

A Weekend to Connect

& Celebrate Together.

October 3 - 6                   Grove City, PA

About Family Reunion

A time for connection, conversations, communion and fun.

On behalf of our AOX church family here in Grove City, I am excited to invite you to come join us October 3-6 for a family reunion. We believe that God places a high value on the way that He has called us to love each other, and we want to set aside time and space to grow in our connection with Him and with each other. For years, we have been dreaming of creating a weekend experience that would allow friends and spiritual family from around the country to get together to reconnect with each other and celebrate what God is doing in our lives.

That is why this is not a conference with a heavy schedule of speakers and breakout groups. Those things are great, but that format often does not allow for the type of connection that we long for. We believe that this family reunion will be a time where we encounter God's presence together, worshipping around the fire OR on a quiet walk in the woods. We want to grow closer to each other as we make room for meaningful conversations about things that matter AND as we create space to play games together and just laugh.

We are praying that each person will be encouraged and strengthened individually, as we engage God and each other in the context of family.

On this page, you will find information about the weekend, places to stay, a rough schedule and a few other things that we thought you would want to know. Please let us know if you have any questions, and make sure to RSVP to let us know if you can make it to this years family reunion.

I hope you can join us!

Brad McKoy

Sr. Leader, AOX

I am contending for you that your hearts will be wrapped in the comfort of heaven and woven together into love’s fabric. This will give you access to all the riches of God as you experience the revelation of God’s great mystery—Christ.

For our spiritual wealth is in him, like hidden treasure waiting to be discovered—heaven’s wisdom and endless riches of revelation knowledge.

Colossians 2:2-3

Please RSVP as soon as possible so we can know how to plan.

Accomodations

CAMPING

Because most of the weekend will be spent on-site at beautiful Old Pine, we are encouraging everyone that would enjoy camping in the Pennsylvania fall to plan to bring a tent or hammock and camp for the weekend. We will have shower and restroom facilities on the property, as well as several grills and food prep stations to make sure that you have what you need for the weekend. Limited space is also available for campers / RVs.

HOST HOMES

If you want to come for the weekend (or part of the weekend) but don't want to camp, we will work hard to find a host home to accommodate you as best as we can, subject to availability. Please let us know when you register if you  would like for us to try to find housing for you, and if you have any specific considerations that would be important for us to know as we plan to host you.

LODGING

The Grove City area is home to several nice hotels and a great Bed & Breakfast. Most of the hotels are near the Grove City Premium Outlets. If you prefer to stay at a hotel or at a Bed & Breakfast, please note that the Family Reunion is the same weekend as Grove City College's Homecoming.

PLEASE BOOK AS FAR IN ADVANCE AS POSSIBLE.

Since we are receiving our rights to an unshakeable kingdom we should be extremely thankful and offer God the purest worship that delights his heart as we lay down our lives in absolute surrender, filled with awe. For our God is a holy, devouring fire!

Schedule

We are trying really hard to provide enough structure in our schedule to make sure that we are prioritizing the most essential things that we can do together while providing plenty of time and space for authentic relationships to form and grow. In the schedule (especially on Friday and Saturday) you will find several optional activities and conversations in the middle of the day. We will continue to add to these options as people RSVP and we are able to get a better understanding of how many people are coming and what things would be most beneficial to those who can make it.

We'll release a final schedule 10 days before the reunion and will email it to everyone who has registered.

Every believer was faithfully devoted to following the teachings of the apostles. Their hearts were mutually linked to one another, sharing communion and coming together regularly for prayer. A deep sense of holy awe swept over everyone, and the apostles performed many miraculous signs and wonders.

HOW MUCH DOES FAMILY REUNION COST TO ATTEND?

While we will not turn anyone away because of finances, the family reunion is definitely not free. We are encouraging everyone that comes to contribute something. That is a part of the way that families function. Based on our initial response, we are recommending a suggested donation of $40 per person. If you pay when you RSVP, that will ss

1

WHO CAN COME TO FAMILY REUNION?

While this time has been created for friends and spiritual family, we want anyone to feel welcome to come. If you are reading this question, you are welcome to attend. As we are inviting people to this reunion, we are encouraging them to consider bringing a few friends along. If you are bringing people, let them know what the weekend is about, and please make sure they register. (We want to be prepared to host them well!)

2

DO I REALLY NEED TO REGISTER FOR FAMILY REUNION?

YES!!! We really want to be able to do a good job hosting our friends from around the region and around the country. If you plan to come to any or all of the reunion, we are asking you to register (even if you live in Grove City...) so that we can make sure that we are prepared to welcome people and honor them during their time here.

HOW SHOULD YOU PACK FOR YOUR TIME?

If you are coming in from out of town, we encourage you to pack like you are camping if possible. What does that mean? Please bring your own towels and bedding if you have them. If you have camp chairs and blankets for around the fire, we would also encourage you to bring that.

IF YOU ARE FLYING...

We understand that you will have limitations on what you can bring. This is not a problem, just let us know when you RSVP.

WHAT IS THE VENUE FOR FAMILY REUNION?

Old Pine is the name of Dan and Stephanie McCloskey's home. It is surrounded by acres of beautiful landscape. We plan on having a vast majority of the reunion on-site at Old Pine, but can use the Hub if necessary because of weather.

SPECIAL NOTE***

To make sure that we are creating a safe atmosphere for everyone at the reunion, no alcohol will be permitted on-site during the family reunion. Thank you.

OLD PINE

When Dan & Stephanie McCloskey purchased their home in 2018, it was with a heart to provide a retreat for friends and family. Surrounded by the beautiful woods and fields of Western Pennsylvania, Old Pine is far enough away to enjoy the beautiful stars and observe the wildlife, and close enough to access downtown Grove City. (5 min. drive)
