T h e H i g h l i g h t s
Last year over 100 people partnered with AOX to give just over $40,000 during our "Fund the Hub" campaign. That giving was based upon the vision in our hearts to buy a building that would serve as a permanent prayer and missions base in Grove City, Pennsylvania. This year we are inviting our partners and friends to give generously to help us pay off the building and complete some initial renovations in a giving campaign we are calling "Finish the Hub". The vision of the Hub has been put into action, and God is using the Hub to help train and equip disciple making followers of Jesus. Here are some of the highlights from the last year.
Creative BE - The first event ever held at the Hub was a two day weekend event focused on creativity. We equipped students, artist, entrepreneurs, pastors and church planters with essential truths about Kingdom Creativity. Click here to see the Recap Video.
Summer in the Grove - The Hub is the center of this 13 week internship that focuses on training students and recent graduates to follow Jesus, make disciple and plant simple expressions of the church in places where people do life. This summer students led people to Jesus, baptized them and began the process of becoming life long disciple makers. Click here to learn more.
SCPx Family Gathering - Students, recent graduates and mentors from across the US (and Norway) gathered in Grove City for a time of refreshing and reconnecting. SCPx is a spiritual family on mission together, and we are honored to serve this part of our family as a training Hub.
Month of Sunday's - The Hub serves as a physical home for our spiritual family. This September, all of the AOX simple churches met together every Sunday night to go through the mission and vision of AOX. At the end of the month, we were able to celebrate and commission the sending out of simple churches across the city and region.
Embracing the Wind - A part of the vision for the Hub is to be able to provide a place for ongoing trainings. Last fall, we were able to do a weekend seminar on the person of the Holy Spirit. This type of training helps disciple and equip people from the AOX community as well as others from across the region that are connected as a part of spiritual family.
Social Media 4 Profit Seminar - Part of the AOX leadership team worked together with The Grove City Chamber of Commerce and Olde Town Grove City to provide a workshop that taught local business leaders how to use social media for their business. It was an honor to be able to serve the business community of our city and region.
#ihearttheGROVE Social Media Fair - Over 20 area business participated in our first social media fair. This event provided businesses a chance to interact and build relationships with consumers from the Grove City area.
Children's Open House for Light Up Night - It was an honor to be able to use the Hub to serve the Grove City community for Olde Town Grove City's Annual Light Up Night. Families were able to bring their children in out of the cold for games, entertainment and prizes.
Weekly Prayer Rhythms - One of the most important things we do at the Hub is pray. Each week we have collective prayer times of focused prayer for our city and region. We also have a time set aside to pray for the nations and the people that we have sent out from the Hub.
Workspace for Entrepreneurs - One of the most tangible highlights from the first year at the Hub as been watching the development of Kingdom minded entrepreneurs. The Hub has provided dedicated work space and a creative atmosphere for collaboration to four entrepreneurs. Click here to read their stories.
Audio and Visual Resource Development - One of the callings that we have in connection to the Hub is to generate resources that will serve our SCPx family, as well as churches and disciple makers within our region. This year, we started the process of creating resource videos. Here is an example of one on Social Covenants.
